YOU are transforming Grandmothers into sustainable entrepreneurs by providing opportunities for them!
Jane is a 55 year old widow raising her two grandchildren, Timothy and Joel. The children lost their mother after a long illness and they were abandoned by their father after their mother passed away. With these two young children now depending on her, Jane needed to find a way to earn enough money to support her family.
Jane was able to borrow 150,000 Ugandan Shillings (about $50 USD) to buy a pig that was pregnant. That’s when Jane’s piggery project began! The pig gave birth to five piglets and she was able to sell two of them. She kept the remaining three piglets and is using them to be a sustainable entrepreneur in piggery (pig breeding). Jane would never have been able to pursue her dream of pig breeding if people like you didn’t support her!
The loan that Joan received has given her the opportunity to open a business that she is very passionate about. Jane is very happy and thankful for the opportunity that has greatly improved her living standards and has helped her in raising her grandchildren.
Thank you very much for the love and generosity you give to Joan and thousands of other grandmothers like her!
