By Bharat Bahadur Khadka | Team Leader

Lockdown had started in Nepal due to corona-19 since 25 March 2020. Infected persons have reached to 4085 and death cases 15 till the date. It has affected in the lives of poor directly and indirectly. Food security is the main problem as they loosed employment opportunities in local area and outside the area.

Terai people are most vulnerable as the settlement is densely populated. There were high chances of infection of corona but local government has been supporting for awareness building and relief support.

MRC Nepal has also been communicating protection measures and to stay safe from corona through mobile.

They have been using cook stoves properly so that helped to save money and protection from indoor pollution.

It was impossible to conduct activities in the field in such adverse condition. Lockdown might extend till another few months due to increasing trend
