An Update About One of the Subjects of Our Films

3 Generations has been documenting stories of sex trafficking for over 10 years. We have and will continue to provide a vital platform for victims and survivors of sex trafficking to talk about the devastating consequences of this human rights abuse.

Our Founder Jane Wells recently checked in with Nik, the subject of our short film What About the Boys. His story dispels some of the common myths about gay prostitution and offers a heart-wrenching look at how one young American boy was brutally forced into sex work. Today, Nik is well and living in Chicago, the city where he was originally forced into prostitution. He works in a cabaret theatre and for a nonprofit fighting sex trafficking - Dreamcatcher.org.  A big part of his work is street outreach. He spends many evenings meeting with, and helping, LGBTQ sex workers. It is a community that embraces him and his past, and one that he enjoys helping in return.

Nik is thriving both physically and mentally. His training as a psychologist and his experience as a survivor are a powerful combination.  It is wonderful to see his progress and growth of self-confidence over the decade we have known him. We admire him deeply and are honored to continue to help tell his story and to witness his journey. Bravo Nik.
