While advancing education through technology in Nigeria, other developing countries globally, in inner-cities and rural America, The Victoria House Foundation consistently provides technology access to public schools in need.
In Nigeria, the students at Government Secondary School Abuja Wuse who were recent beneficiaries of VHF’s computer and Internet access donations, have shown tremendous capabilities with browsing and researching on the Internet unsupervised. The use of computers at the Government Secondary School Abuja Wuse have provided the students with new ways to learn that will always resonate on a global level. Since the implementation of computers and internet access they have seen an increased engagement level in class activities, lessons and assignments. Many students are genuinely interested in modern technology and have quickly learned to incorporate technology into learning activities in their classrooms. According to a report collected by VHF at GSS Abuja Wuse, in comparison to prior access to computers and Internet access, students there are more engaged and focused with their school work. The GSS students are enthusiastic and revitalized due to the implementation of computers and the Internet. We know that technology has brought hands on learning to the classroom that is both engaging and mentally stimulating.
In addition to the work done at Abuja Wuse, both the Iroko Community Grammar School and Government Secondary School Sabon Kaduna in Nigeria will receive their computer donations and Internet connectivity this June from The Victoria House Foundation. Lastly, in addition to Nigeria in June, The Victoria House Foundation is going to the Philippines and Ghana in the summer of 2018 to provide technology access to students in rural communities. VHF will also be working a inner city school, Alain Locke Elementary school in Philadelphia, Pensylvania. We will continuously provide updates on upcoming projects and developments.
We cannot thank you enough for your generous support and helping us sustain our projects.
