One of our main priorities is to help remote rural schools to get online so that they can access educational resources, communicate with other schools and participate in our regular webinars on school leadership and other topics. To do this we have been collaborating with African Child Projects and Basic Internet who have developed a low cost way to get better connectivity to such schools.
On the UN day for Girls in ICT we heard from 3 amazing Tanzanian women working on improving school connectivity as part of this project. As we continue to advocate towards bridging the gaps in the digital world, we appreciate their efforts to encourage more girls into the rapidly growing world of Digital and ICT. Watch the recording here.
For rural Tanzanian girls who have never been online it was a real eye opener to hear about potential careers like this. This is why we have started the Tanzania Chapter of Inspiring Girls to bring a wider range of positive female role models via monthly webinars. So far we have have heard from girls' rights activists such as Rhobi and Catherine and also younger women. You can watch the whole playlist here.
Thank you again for your support for this project!
With gratitude
Janet
