Hello Donors,
Like many students worldwide, Kenyan students have lost almost a year of instructional time. To continue their education, many of these Kenyan students have several obstacles to overcome such as the 5-6 miles they need to walk each way to school and back home. This is why “Pedal Power for Kenyan Education” is so important. The 50 bicycles at St. Mary’s Secondary School have held up well, are currently being used, and will serve students for years to come.
Modrine, Form 2 student says: “The pedal power project has enabled me to reach school on time and thus given me the ability to concentrate on my academics.”
Mildred, Form 1 student says: “I am happy to be a beneficiary of a bicycle and so appreciative for the project. It has eased my struggle to reach school.”
Schools have reopened and money has been raised to purchase 25 bicycles, helmets, safety vests, and tool kits for St. Peter’s Secondary School. Form four students who will be taking national exams for entry to university will be given preference for using these bicycles.
Thanks for your past support of “Pedal Power for Kenyan Education”. Our next fundraiser will be during the week of March 8th-12th, GlobalGiving’s Little x Little campaign. Feel free to donate anytime and to share information about this program on social media. It is hoped that enough money will be raised to purchase another 25 bicycles and accessories for St. Peter’s School.
Sincerely,
Grow Against Poverty USA and Kenya
