Hello Donors,
Thanks again for your continued support of Grow Against Poverty’s Programs in Busia County, Kenya. In July a second donation of $3,000 was sent for COVID-19 relief. The seeds, fertilizers, hoes, grain storage bags, maize, rice, and beans that were distributed benefitted several groups: people with disabilities, the elderly, widows, and farmers who live near the Grow Against Poverty community building. In all, more than 500 people were positively impacted.
The Kenyan government has started the reopening of schools with grades 4, 8, and 12 (form 4) now in session. Pedal Power for Kenyan Education will be especially important, as students in form 4 will take national exams that determine whether or not they will qualify to attend a university. We hope to purchase another 50 bicycles, helmets, vests, and tool kits for students to borrow this school year.
Please keep Grow Against Poverty in mind as the holiday season approaches. We will be participating in Giving Tuesday’s fund-raising on December 1st. Naturally, donations are welcome at any time.
Regards,
John and Jean Roccanova
