In the last three months, the artisans completed a basic computer workshop that has allowed them to develop digital skills, access to information and contact with their clients.
After this course, the artisans took a basic photography workshop which has allowed them to document in photo and video the organizational and productive processes of their enterprises.
At the end of both workshops, in the month of December, the event for the awarding of certificates to the 22 craftswomen who participated. This event was very important because it is an acknowledge to the craftswomen's efforts and, above all, the exercise of their right to education.
"I am very happy to have participated in the workshops, I had never used a computer before, I had only seen them, but now I can use it, I can access the internet and search for information, this will help me to research and learn new things to improve my handmade products". Testimony of an artisan.
For other artisan, the photography course was very important "To participate, they gave me a tablet with which I was learning how to take photos, I really liked participating in the photography workshop, really liked the photos I take and this way it is easier to communicate with my clients, I can send them photos of the progress of the orders and of the colleagues who participate".
For the artisans was very exciting to receive the certificate for the workshops that they participated in, because women in the communities are not allowed to attend school, or sometimes do not finish, and participating in the courses was like going to school with a graduation ceremony.
In addition to the training processes, the artisans continue to generate new handicraft products based on the total quality requirements of the markets, they have increased their levels of quality and competitiveness, which allows them to access better income. The collections developed by the artisans are available at www.matat.org.
