Dear Generous Donors and Supporters of Leadership Initiatives,
As you may be aware, Leadership Initiatives hosts a series of summer programs each year at Georgetown University. These internships, although short in duration, allow students to work with a Nigerian business and produce real-life solutions that have the capability of changing lives across the globe. In addition, Leadership Initiatives' International Business Internship Program has recently begun again, which provides teams of high school students with a year-long business partner and the opportunity to generate progress in developing communities. Students who participate in these programs have been able to transform businesses and communities through their hard work, creativity, and perseverance.
We are happy to report that Leadership Initiatives students will be partnering with a local orphanage in Bauchi State through our programs, thus allowing these orphans to get more attention and thoughtful problem solving than they ever have in the past. In the past, students have come up with solutions for teaching the orphans hygiene and other basic life skills necessary for advancing in today’s modern society. Now that the orphans are well-versed in the fundamentals, our students now have the opportunity to tackle the problem that this GlobalGiving project intends to fix: literacy difficulties. Through Leadership Initiatives, students can address the issues of curriculum and education, ensuring that the orphans are proficient in both Hausa and English in order to guarantee maximum success in the future. By breaking down the barriers between these two languages, orphans will be able to tackle the challenges of the modern world in a way that can completely transform their lives.
Of course, none of these opportunities for LI students and partners would be available without your donations, which is why we here at Leadership Initiatives are so eternally grateful for your help. Although the ability to speak English is something we often take for granted, your donations and support are paramount in our mission to bring this linguistic advantage to people across the globe. We cannot emphasize enough what your donations mean to us and, more importantly, to the orphans across the globe. Thank you again for everything you’ve done, and we’ll keep you updated as to how your dollars are directly impacting the lives of dozens in Nigeria.
Wishing you a wonderful day,
The Leadership Initiatives Team
