We express our gratitude to GlobalGiving and all our partners for their continued collaboration and support. Together, we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those affected by displacement in Ethiopia.

In the current reporting period, our organization, MHO has made significant strides in the implementation of the project "Help Life-Saving to Displaced People in Ethiopia," generously supported by GlobalGiving and its partner organizations.

Despite not raising additional funds in this reporting period, our commitment to the project's objectives remains unwavering. We continue to make a substantial impact through a combination of existing resources and support from various donors.

Throughout this reporting period, we have focused our efforts on providing crucial assistance to the most vulnerable members of the displaced population, with a particular emphasis on women and children in need, including internally displaced persons (IDPs).MHO has not only delivered life-saving aid but has gone beyond by initiating rehabilitation and reintegration efforts. Our team has successfully provided vocational skill training to empower vulnerable women, ensuring they have the tools needed for self-sufficiency. In addition to skills training, MHO has distributed essential household materials, including clothing, to those in need. Recognizing the importance of financial independence, seed money has been provided to assist and sustain them

Alongside presently, we are actively providing holistic services in three MHO Rehabilitation Centers, where impoverished mothers and children are receiving comprehensive support. These centers serve as safe spaces where individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity

Challenges Faced:

  • In this reporting period, our organization encountered a significant challenge—the shortage of funding. The ongoing humanitarian crises and the devastating famine in Ethiopia have exacerbated the plight of displaced individuals, creating an urgent need for additional resources. Despite this hurdle, MHO has continued to deliver critical assistance to those in dire need.
  • The current growing humanitarian crises in Ethiopia, coupled with the imminent threat of famine, pose a grave concern. As people face dire circumstances and the risk of succumbing to hunger, our efforts become even more crucial. MHO is actively addressing these challenges with a focus on immediate life-saving measures and sustainable solutions for the affected communities.
