Dear GlobalGiving Family,
Germinating Every Mind Liberia (GEM Liberia) and the Jennifer Albee Enrichment School extend their profound gratitude to GlobalGiving and all of our donors for their continued support to the girls of Liberia. GEM- Liberia is please to forward its quarterly report.
This periodic report is part of the Germinating Every Mind-Liberia's commitment to GlobalGiving and donors. The period's report covers from October 13, 2022to January 8, 2023. We are thrilled to inform you about new developments since our last report in October.
Since October 2022, we have Completed three periodic exams. School academic activities remain regular at Jennifer Albee Enrichment. We have completed three periodic exams and will leave for the first semester vacation on February 17, 2023. 110 students made satisfactory passes. 12students are placed on probation for improvement while 13years old Rudiana Coyenao is the most improved student. Rudiana has left from the bottom of the class to the 3rdplace of the 6thgrade class.
District Spelling Participants- Jennifer Albee Enrichment School has registered for the District Spelling Bee competition. Our team is led by our two times Queen Bee winner, Student Hannah Diah. We anticipate bringing home honor to our great institution. No games have been played, but all schools are currently in the preparation stage of the competition.
Back to school games played! As part of schools annual activities, to keep their students social and physically active, the scool had itsold students and games played. The various games were bag race, singing and dancing competition, kickball and egg race. The old students won all of the games except for the singing and dancing competition. The new students won that game with the aid of talented Antoinette Zulu of grade 1 class. She was exceptional in her dance strokes.
Huge Mile stones
One of our greatest achievements during this term of report is having 13years old Rudiana Coyenao as the most improved student. Rudiana has left from the bottom of the class to the 3rdplace of the 6thgrade class. Rudiana came to Jennifer Albee Enrichment School upon the establishment of the school. She was among the first 25girls who enrolled at the vacation school program and later registered for the regular acacdemic term with 74 other girls. Rudiana joined us 2020, in the 5thgrade as a special need student who couldn't read nor write a sentence. Based on her performance, she was demoted to the 4thgrade class after consultation with her parents. We continue to give her basic foundational tutoring until she has made it from the least girl to one of the best girls in her class of 23girls. We are super proud of her and the work we have done through her.
Vast students' improvement in vocation
The students have shown great improvements and have began to independently make productions in the various trades. They are now making sales off their products. The income goes towards the purchasing of new material for the continuation of the classes and also towards their lunch. They are excited about being an income earner at a very tender age. Once again, a big thanks to GlobalGiving and our many donors for their support in helping us achieve our dream of having a quality education for girls in Liberia.
Once again, our sincere gratitude to all our GlobalGiving families and supporters. We appreciate every worth of your support.
THANK YOU!
