Subject: GEM Liberia February 2024 Periodic Progress Report
GEM Liberia and the Jennifer Albee Enrichment School extend their profound gratitude to GlobalGiving and all our generous donors for their continuous support to the girls of Liberia. GEM- Liberia is pleased to present its quarterly report. This periodic report is part of the Germinating Every Mind-Liberia's commitment to GlobalGiving and our donors. This period's report covers from October 5, 2023 to January 29, 2024. We are excited to update you on our newest achievements. Problem: Harsh economic conditions reducing a girl's chance of completing formal education Solution: Provide stable access to safe quality education for girls Huge Milestones
1. Purchase of the School land- we met our short-term goal! We are excited to inform you that we were able to secure a 2lost parcel of land in Montserrado County, in the capitol of Liberia. This was listed as our short term goal in our last report. We are glad that together with our donors, we have achieved it. Acquiring this land will bring so much rental relief to the school in a few years as well as future development. The said land is going to host our national campus and headquarter in Liberia. We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who made this possible through your donations.
2. More academic improvement during 2nd marking period The second marking period shows more significant academic achievements. More children made it to the school's high honor list with the averages ranging from 87% to 95%. 93students of 110students made successful pass in their classes Chart is attached. Student Hannah of the 8th grade class for the fourth consecutive year, still maintains the highest grade point since her enrollment in the school in 2020. She remains the face of Jennifer Albee Enrichment School.
3. Teacher of the Month Ms. Agatha, the sponsor of the grade 1&2 integrated learning class is our Teacher of the term. Ms. Agartha has demonstrated so much commitment to her students' development. During the last two periods, 65percent of the class has improved in their reading cvc and cvcv words independently.
Long Term Goals Our new short term goal is the commencement of the construction of our school main campus. Nothing is so much important than having our own place of domicile.
Conclusion We again close on a note of gratitude to everyone who has placed in their resources to reach our project to the level we are at. Thanks to GlobalGiving for affording us the space for such wonderful fundraising opportunity.
