Greetings friends -
We are sending out this project report during a difficult time. In February, Cambodia experienced a tenfold increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, leading the government to implement strict lock-down measures. Although the number of cases were few compared to other countries, authorities were concerned that the virus rapidly could spread if not controlled.
Unfortunately, the intense lockdown prevented many poor families from leaving their neighborhoods to get food. Government aid was handed out inequitably. Many families have suffered from hunger and deprivation. We can only imagine what these recent weeks have done to stress families that are also experiencing conflict and violence.
Thanks to the generosity of our existing donors and individuals, we have been able to disperse some food aid to peacebuilders and their communities. For that we are truly grateful.
As we continue through the next few months, we will look for ways to support our communities, especially using our peacebuilders as a network to reach vulnerable people.
Thank you for your support and solidarity. Stay well.
