Young girls in Kenya are major targets of preying men. One of our girls was recently impregnated, but she was able to continue school until she sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in November 2019. Despite all the stigmatization and ridicule she faced at school, she managed to score 299 marks out of the possible 500 marks. However, attaining a score of 300 minimum is required in order for a child to be sponsored for secondary school. She has opted to repeat class eight in 2020 to improve her marks, as she wants to attain her goal of becoming a lawyer. This is especially diffcult because she's in such a harsh climate with intense stigma towards young girls for being pregant, even when it is because of an abusive situation. We are really proud of her for wanting to repeat her latest class. We know it's because of the incredible support we get from donors like you that we are able to provide support to our girls who unfortunately go through these traumatic experiences. Our girls are gaining more power within their communities. They are starting to win court cases against their abusers because of the funding we are getting to help the girls continue to succeed. We cannot thank you enough for your support, it is truly changing the world. Asante.
