Picture this: A child wakes up before dawn, stomach empty, and walks miles to school—only to sit on a dirt floor with no books, no supplies, and no teacher in sight. This is the reality for many children in rural Kenya. But with Makindu Children’s Centre, 552 children now have a chance at an education—a chance at a future.
A school uniform is more than just fabric—it’s dignity, confidence, and a key to the classroom. Without one, a child may be turned away at the door. This year, thanks to Makindu’s supporters, 338 children received brand-new uniforms, walking into school with pride and purpose.
Imagine trying to learn on an empty stomach. Hunger is a daily battle, and many schools don’t provide meals. But because of Makindu, 3,000 children received life-sustaining food deliveries, giving them the strength to focus, learn, and dream.
Not every child can go to high school, but every child deserves a future. If students don’t score high enough on national exams, their education could end. But Makindu gives them another way forward. In vocational school, students learn skills like tailoring, hairdressing, and mechanics—turning their hands into their livelihood.
Education isn’t just about books—it’s about breaking the cycle of poverty. In a system stacked against them, these children fight every day for their right to learn. And with Makindu’s support, they are winning.
The need is real, and the impact is life-changing. As education costs rise, more children are at risk of losing their chance at school. But together, we can change that.
You can be part of something bigger. A brighter future starts with a single act of kindness. Join us—sponsor a child, feed a family, change a life. Because when you lift up one child, you lift up a whole community.
Just $50—less than a night out—feeds a struggling family for 3-4 weeks. That means a child stays nourished, stays in school, and stays hopeful about their future. A small gift can mean everything to a hungry student.
