In the heart of the displacement camp in Al-Shuja’iya, northern Gaza, where scattered tents tell stories of pain and loss, Murad lives with his mother and sister after losing his father in the latest war. The war left deep scars in their lives—not just in the absence of a father, but in the daily struggles and relentless hardship they endure.

The family resides in a modest tent, lacking the most basic necessities. With harsh living conditions, even securing a hot meal has become a distant luxury. Murad’s mother does everything she can with the little she has, trying to provide for her children, but many days pass with nothing more than dry bread or leftovers barely enough to sustain them.

But today, thanks to your generosity, hope has reached them in the form of a warm meal. It was not just food—it was a moment of comfort in the cold, a light that brightened their weary faces. Murad sat beside his mother and sister, his eyes shining with a joy he had almost forgotten. His mother held back tears as she watched her children eat a full meal without having to ration it, fearing it wouldn’t be enough.

It is just one meal, but it means so much… It means that someone still cares, that kindness still exists, and that they are not alone.

More than 80% of Gaza Strip has been reduced to rubble, and entire families have vanished under the debris during the latest aggression. Those who survived now live in tents that provide no protection from the harsh winter cold or the scorching summer heat, struggling daily to secure their basic needs.

While our field team was distributing food baskets to affected families in Al-Wafa Camp, north of Gaza, we encountered one of the most heartbreaking stories—the story of Ramez, the sole survivor from an airstrike that completely destroyed his family’s home in Gaza City.

Ramez recalls:
"The only thing I remember is a loud sound waking me up. Then, everything went dark, and I could only smell dust choking me. I heard voices calling, ‘Is anyone there?’ and I weakly answered, ‘I’m here, I’m here…’ After that, I found myself in the hospital. I asked about my parents and siblings, but no one answered me..."

Today, Ramez lives with his uncle, Saleh, still unaware of what truly happened to his family. He constantly dreams of becoming a doctor, hoping to help the wounded, as he has grown up witnessing bombings and destruction.

Thanks to your support, we were able to provide a full food basket to Ramez’s uncle’s family, easing part of their suffering in these dire conditions.

However, the need remains immense, and with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, donations become even more crucial to ensure that hundreds of families who lost everything receive the food they desperately need.
