Tree Growing to Save the Planet

Dear Donor,

Thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative tree growing in order to save the planet. This reporting period we are happy to report that our tree growing activity using agro-reforestation as a strategy is working. Agro-reforestation means that we don't only concentrate on tree planting but also include the growing of food crops like vegetables and the raising of farm animals like chickens and goats. We were able to provide for the tree growing needs of 170 farmers during this period and we hope to increase the number in the coming months. We are also happy to report that we are connecting with organizations involved in climate mitigation and carbon capture using tree growing as a mode. This is a new venture for us and we hope that we will be able to improve our skills and seek technical assistance from experts. Again thank you so much for your help.

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative tree growing to save the planet. The most common mistake tree growing promoters commit when they introduce this kind of project is that very few people are interested. This is simply because of the fact that trees takes a long time to grow and bear fruit and hence, the economic gain is not attractive for farmers. They want plants that provide for their immediate needs and this is not possible with trees. Our approach in this situation is to introduce the growing of cash crops like vegetables and pulses that will provide for their immediate economic satisfaction. In so doing we generate much interest and uptake of tree farmers. We have proven this approcah to be effective and timely. This reporting period we are able to provide for alternative vegetable seeds to 300 farmers. Thank you very much for your generosity.
