The desire to see the beauty of life

We do not cherish the simple joys of life and the one most treasured of it all - sight.

The ability to see the colors that surround us, the emotions of our close ones, the passion of actors and the vivid landscapes this world has to offer. Sight is a rare gift to be cherished and to be thankful for.

This is the story of Faiza who is 26 years old hailing from a family of four - her mother and a younger brother and sister. Her father passed away in 1988 when she was just eight years old.

It was left to her mother to earn a living to afford the basic necessities of life; she started working as a seamstress and was able to support her children in whatever way she could. .

There were many more hurdles to come as Faiza developed a problem in her eye which hindered her visibility. As time passed Faiza’s sight became weaker and weaker and it became difficult for her to study or to do simple household chores.

Given her financial constraints, her mother took her to various small clinics and dispensaries but there was never a proper diagnosis. Someone referred the family to Fatima Memorial Hospital and she was diagnosedvisual acuity of 6/60 in either eye and posterior polar dense cataract in both the eyes.

The only option was an operation and Fatima Memorial Hospital was able to provide the treatment free of cost.

Today, Faiza has regained her vision and getting better day by day and her world does not look as dark as it seemed a few months ago.

Today we ask for your help to give us the chance to utilize our resource of personnel, equipment & the hospital to give sight to another 150 patients.

Fatima Memorial Hospital feels honored to be able to change the lives of so many and will like to continue doing so through your help.
