Safe Water Sports, the Organization that promotes safety in the aquatic environment, has opened its doors to the schools in order to facilitate educational visits at its promises. Precisely, the Organization has officially launched ''Ocean Lab'' an educational, interactive place where students are invited at no cost to attend a two-hour interactive kind of lesson through technologically based games.
Additioanlly, the John Latsis Foundation supports this action by covering the transportation cost of all students from primary or high schools located in the region of Athens. So far, more thatn 700 students have visited our premises.
Our next goal is to create digital or even physical ''Ocean Labs'' through out Greece!
Another goal for the Organization is to promote even greater safety and education to children where they do not have any kind of access to swimming pools. This can be done by communicating with Municipalities and facilitating the process of sea-based swimming pools that will be open to the public six months each year. This is a way to reassure that swimming classes can be given not only to young children but also to the elderly given the fact that 82 % of those who lose their lives at sea, in Greece, are over 60.
In the following months, the Organization will also produce the new 'Observatory of accidents' regarding drownings and accidents in the aquatic environment from 2018-2022.
Last, but not least, another goal is to create a wider range of educational online games where children can learn about their safety at sea or in the swimming pool through a fun way.
