This time we want to shift our focus a little from pads; and introduce you to the woman behind making/sewing these reusable sanitary pads. Her name is Ivy from Sigagula village.Ivy is wheelchair bound but her skills as a seamstress speaks volumes.
At Nourish Eco Village we thought of showing a little appreciation to her by gifting her a bed because she spends most of her time in a bed and we hope this bed will make her life a little easier so she can be well and healthy to sew us more and more pads.Ivy sewed over 200 pads for our Ubuntu girls club program and already started with the remaining 800 and these helps her to create a better livelihood for her and her son. We are greateful that she is helping us in making these products because we are now able to have girls stay in school during their monthly periods because of our reusable pads.
And to our donors thank you for supporting this project because we are able to offer work to local woman in Sigagula village. And for our next report be sure to see more and more pictures of pads that Ivy is currently working on.
Thank you!
