Save the victims affected by STORM Disaster

The victim families affected by Storm disaster during this quarter from November 2021 to January 2022 have been greatly suffered by heavy rainfalls in terms of flooding which is so abnormal in Nepal during this late rainy season period in November.This season and time is mainly for Paddy crop harvesting and threshing.This crop in Nepal is major food crops in Nepal from which people livelihood is based and concerned. But unfortunately, because of heavy rainfalls whole harvested paddy crops were damaged and not fit for food purposes.As a result , the livelihood of the poor people were threatened and great risk of hand to mouth problems.

In this circumstances,

MRC Nepal organize those victm families in groups and performed socio psycho counselling for the relief of pain and stress.Also MRC nepal lobbyed the group in Local and central government authority for granting any type of subsidy for food and seed materials.Not only these but also MRC Nepal organize these victim families for the implementation of Short run income generation activities such as High value fresh vegetable production program from where they generate the attractive income from the selling of fresh vegetables.MRC Nepal supported them seeds inputs for production,technical backstopping support and Skill enhancement capacity building training.Now the beneficiaries are so pleased for maintaining their daily livelihood and thanked to  GlobalGiving and MRC Nepal.

The heavy storm affected victim families in Bara district of Nepal are still in miserable situation although having temporory shelter almost all  victim families and some have permanet housing shelters supported by many outsiders rehabilitate agencies and MRC Nepal. But these families are more suffered by income generation opportunities to maintain their day to day livelihood.Along with these the victims families are also suffered by COVID-19 pandemic.In this regards,the victim families have been suffering from acute hand to mouth problems for maintaining daily livelihood for their dependent families.

In this regards, Our organization MRC Nepal have been playing great role for overcoming these stress and painful situation through awareness raising on social preparion,advocacy,counselling and promotion of quick income generation activities such as Home gardening promotion for vegetable production technologies.Within 2-3 month period,fresh vegetable production technologies have been provided with technical backstopping and skill enhancement training(focuss on ecofriendly production).So that victim families are benefitted from vegetable need in kitchen as well as attractive income from the sale of vegetables.Great support from MRC Nepal in these very difficult situation expressed by victim families in the program areas. The project also provided Fruits saplings for environment protection and income,seeds support for vegetable farming,capacity enhancement training for vegetable production and technical backstopping support for vegetable production and Marketing.

Now,the beneficiaries are so happy with these counselling support and seed/materials support from MRC Nepal.Thanks to entire GLOBAL GIVING Team for resources generation,said by victim families in the affected areas.
