Rainwater Systems to cope with climate change

Dear donors,

We are very pleased to share with you all the progress of this project since our last report.

We are going through the last stages of this project. The last 3 remaining roofs are being completed and are expected to be finished during the month of July. As for the cisterns, 3 are under construction and the construction of the last 3 remaining cisterns will start next month. With them, the activities of this project will be concluded.

The completion of the project was previously planned, but due to weather-related situations and the community's own activities, the closing date has been postponed. In our next report we hope to be able to share that the tasks have been completed in their entirety.

It is important to note that during the month of June workshops were held with the community on the pumps used in the cisterns and how to extract water from them.

We are more than happy to share with you all a new update about this beautiful project! 

During January and February, the progress of the work was delayed, due to the large number of rainy days and the fact that this is a period when many people move to work at other sites.

This was expected, but in any case, the project is at an advanced stage. Only 3 cistern tanks remain to be completed out of 33 planned. And progress has been made on the construction of the roofs, which are almost complete.

As next steps, we will soon begin to pipe conections between the existing roofs and the tanks, which was delayed due to the reasons explained above.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of April! So we will be happy to share progress in our next (and perhaps last) report, showing you some (or all) the systems completed already.

Please keep on supporting this great project, now that we are so close to complete it!
