Future site for hangar construction
At the moment, the final stage of repairs for this project is on standby awaiting for clearance from FEMA and COR3 reviews.
We are hoping to have the approval from FEMA within the next 90 days.
Roof sealing and paint work has been completed as well as installation of alarm system. What remains is the hangar for official vehicles and that part of the project is what is PENDING approval from FEMA.
We are very grateful for donations to this project. Please be assured that as soon as construction of Hangar begins we will notify all donors. Also, in mid November we received a visit form two members of Global Giving's staff who conducted a site inspection of the project and they confirmed that all repairs of this project had been completed except for the hangar which again, is pending FEMA approval.

Summer Update

Finishing exterior paint work
During the summer months of June through August Painting work was completed, Roofing sealing work is 75% completed and security components like fire alarms and diesel tank for generator have been installed and tested successfully. As of September, we will begin working on construction of vehicle hangar as the last component of project. This component of the project has taken a little more time than anticipated given busy schedules of contractor very engaged with reconstruction projects. Good contractors who are FEMA code licensed are not readily available. Regarding funding under GlobalGiving, we have not received individual donations for this project, but we do anticipate grants from FEMA under 404 mitigation program to cover about 90% of costs of what remains of this project.

Project Report
Since opening this project on GlobalGiving we have not received any donations via this platform, we have however, applied and received a Disaster Relief Grant from GlobalGiving for $25,000.00. That brought down the original amount of funds needed for this project from $70,000.00 to $45,000.00
Also, our staff met with FEMA officials to plan for repairs that can be covered with Disaster Relief Assistance and that is being calculated and it seems as if we are going to qualify for 85% of total costs. We will reset the total funds needed depending on approved funding. At this moment we are happy to inform that things are moving along according to plans set in the project. We have hired a local contractor to begin work on roof tops, painting and general repairs and will also begin construction work of cement hangar for our official vehicles in July. We are also happy to announce that installation of new fire alarm for housing units is taking place and should be completed by the end of this month of June.
Thank you for your support.
