Primary Health Center & Lab to Serve 30,000 People

TGR recently completed the semi-annual Health Fair, a two-day event held on 11 -12 August at the TGR Community Health center in Entebbe, Uganda. It is our second year of implementing this initiative and we are pleased to see an uptick in the number of patients, services and volunteers as highlighted:

• Patients - 1200 patients an increase of about 30% from last year.
• Doctors - 26 doctors from various hospitals and organizations across different specializations vs. 10 doctors in 2022.
• Services - Addition of extra screening, diagnostic testing and treatment.  We were able to provide mental health services, cervical cancer, breast cancer, HIV screening, dental care, eye exams, Male circumcision, family planning and immunization.

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, yet many individuals and families in our community face significant barriers to receiving the care they need. Thanks to your commitment to our mission, we have been able to address some of the challenges and we are making positive impact on the health and well-being of our community members. Here are some key achievements of  TGR community health center over the past year:

Increased Outreach Efforts:

We have expanded our outreach programs to reach a wider underserved population.

TGR health care staff and volunteers have conducted health education sessions and workshops on various topics, including preventive care and chronic disease management.

Enhanced Medical Services:

TGR Community Health Center have implemented medical programs to address specific health concerns prevalent in the community, such as diabetes management, prenatal care, and child wellness programs.

Expanded the range of services offered, including immunization.

Improved Access to Care:

Tender Grassroots has forged a Collaborative relationship with local schools and community organizations to promote health and wellness initiatives, such as school health screenings and health fairs.

TGR has served 9,873 patients over the past year and anticipate the number to be higher this year.
