Dear Supporters,
As always, thanks for your continued support of Grow Against Poverty’s Pedal Power for Kenyan Education program. Since it started 6 years ago, over 1200 students at 13 high schools have seen improvements in their academics, graduation rates and acceptances to colleges. We hope to reach more students by adding 2 additional schools each year for the next 5 years.
After students graduate, the Buffalo Bicycles that they used for school transportation go to other students. Many of the first bicycles in the program have been pedaled over 12,000 miles! This durability is due to the high-quality bicycles that we purchase, Grow Against Poverty’s ongoing maintenance and to the special care provided by the students.
Besides the funding that you provide, this program depends on the work and cooperation of a number of people. Grow Against Poverty would like to recognize Hellen, Director of GAP-Kenya, the staff at the schools who work along with us on the program, the mechanics who help keep the bicycles on the road and students’ parents for their support.
With appreciation,
John Roccanova
