The past three months have been a time of celebration, transition, and new beginnings for our Marimba Hubs. From applauding the achievements of our matriculants to welcoming a dedicated new team member, the Marimba family continues to grow and thrive.
Celebrating Our Marimba Hub Matriculants!
As we kick off the year, we take a moment to honour and reflect on the remarkable achievements of our former Masibambane College Marimba Hub learners, who have successfully matriculated and are stepping into exciting new chapters of their lives.
One of our matriculants, Siphesihle S, completed matric at Masibambane College with a Bachelor’s Degree pass and one distinction. With university offers from North-West University for Chartered Accountancy and the University of KwaZulu-Natal for Computer Science, Siphesihle is eagerly awaiting registration to embark on this next academic journey.
Another outstanding matriculant, Zinhle M, achieved a Bachelor’s Degree pass with two distinctions in isiZulu and Life Orientation. Their passion for education has already led them to begin their teaching career. Through the Realema Teaching Internship, Zinhle is now working at Masibambane College while pursuing a degree in Intermediate Phase Teaching, specialising in Mathematics and Life Skills.
We are incredibly proud of these young achievers and look forward to witnessing the impact they will make in their chosen fields. Their journeys are a testament to the power of education, perseverance, and the opportunities that stem from the Marimba Hub experience. Congratulations to our matriculants - we can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
Welcoming Our New Team Member, Rocko! We are thrilled to welcome Rocko to the Marimba team! As part of our very first alumni group when we launched the pilot programme in 2022, Rocko has shown unwavering dedication to the Marimba Hubs. Since completing his 40-hour training, he has been instrumental as a marimba teacher at MCK Special School, one of our special needs hubs.
His commitment to reviving and strengthening the hub, coupled with his ongoing engagement in the alumni programme, has truly set him apart. Seeing his journey come full circle—from student to mentor—is a moment of pride for the entire team. We can't wait to see the impact Rocko will continue to make as he brings music, mentorship, and passion to our Marimba Hubs!
As we move forward, we remain committed to nurturing the talents of our learners and expanding the reach of the Marimba Hubs. Whether through celebrating academic achievements or welcoming new educators, our programme continues to be a space of growth, opportunity, and vibrant musical learning.
Here’s to another quarter of making music and making a difference!
