Everything around you feels beautiful when you are comfortable and content. Who does not want to enjoy the beauty this world has to offer but alas for many it isn’t so.
This 24 years old is a Rheumatoid Arthritis patient and was wheel chair bound and could not move around without it. This was due her deformed knee joints which resulted in her complete immobility.
Her treatment required complete replacement of her knees, which was impossible due to the costs incurred. Coming from a very impoverished background where her parents worked hard to make ends meet, an operation like this was out of the question.
She was finally brought to Fatima Memorial Hospital where the Arthritis Care Foundation (ACF) sponsored the replacement of both her knees which costs Rs.400, 000.
The operation was successful and today she is completely free from all the crutches and wheelchairs that held her back giving her a new lease to life. ACF is treating many patients daily at Fatima Memorial Hospital and to continue with our purpose of healthier community we need your kind support. Our mission is to make Pakistan an arthritis free nation.
The disease can strike at any time and without proper care can lead to severe disabilities affecting patients for a lifetime. However, today through early diagnosis and extensive treatment rheumatologists can significantly help prevent disability and death in patients suffering from rheumatic diseases.
Rheumatic Diseases are the most common cause of physical disability all over the world
These stories give us hope and the strength to continue with our mission.
Please donate today and change lives.
