Over the past four months, Colobus Conservation has made significant strides in primate care, helping injured primates recover and releasing them back into the wild. From November to February, we’ve cared for numerous species, each with their own story of resilience.
In November, we attended to 10 cases, including a vervet monkey that needed long-term rehabilitation after severe injuries. By December, a juvenile vervet monkey required amputation but made an inspiring recovery, jumping with ease again after dedicated care. Thanks to your generous donations, two of our caregivers have greatly benefited from hands-on experience, developing new skills while caring for these animals.
January brought more cases, including 10 Colobus monkeys, 3 Sykes monkeys, 1 baboon and 1 monitor lizard. The month was highlighted by the successful release of 4 rehabilitated animals back into their natural habitats. February saw another 10 animals in need, and with 2 more releases, we continue to make a lasting impact on both wildlife and our caregivers.
As we look back, we’re proud of our progress and the professional development of our caregivers, all of which have been made possible by your support. With every animal we help, we’re reminded of the importance of both conservation and the dedicated people who make it possible. Thank you for your continued support!
