In January, a total of 31 animal welfare cases were recorded. These comprised 10 Sykes, 10 Colobus, 3 Vervets, 4 Baboons, 1 Peasant coucal, 1 Suni, and 1 Galago.
In February, there were 27 animal welfare cases reported. Among these, 11 were Sykes, 8 Colobus, 4 Vervets, 2 Baboons, 1 Common Swift bird, and 1 Galago.
During January, we intervened in a case where a Baboon was ensnared by its wrist on Diani, Beach Road. We successfully removed the snare, ensuring the animal's well-being. (Check link attached to view the video showing Team Colobus removing the snare)
In February, we welcomed Rafiki, an infant Vervet monkey found on the ground. Initially weak, Rafiki has since thrived under our care, thanks to your generous support. Your ongoing assistance enables us to continue safeguarding and rehabilitating these animals, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
