Nur's Post-natal Care Check-up
Dear HOPE Supporter,
Thank you for donating to this critical project. Our Mothers' Clubs are helping us to spread the word about pregnancy care services they can receive for free at HOPE Hospital. This project was made possible by our partner, where we provide comprehensive antenatal care, diagnostic services, access to a skilled delivery professional and neonatal care. Our goal was to reach 1,000 women in 15 months but our Mothers have been so instrumental in raising awareness of this project that we have raeched 980 women in just 9 months! We wil continue the project as it is so essential that women receive adequare pregnancy care and we could not be more thrilled at the success of the project thus far. We have our Mothers' Clubs to thank for this.
Thank you for your dedication to improving women and childrne's health in southeast Bangladesh.
Sincerely,
Ashley Pugh

Mothers' Clubs Provide Breastfeeding Awareness

Mom with Sleeping, Growing Baby
Dear HOPE Supporter,
There is an abundant amout of knowledge that new mothers require, but fail to have access to such information when living in remote communities with little use of skilled health professionals and while engaging in cultural practices that go against accepted healthy behaviors. One of the most significant pieces of information that new mothers need is that their newborn should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life. Exclusive breastfeeding has the potential to bring down infant motality rates by almost 10%, which is significant for a country like bangladesh where stunting and malnutrition is rampant among children under 5.
This is where HOPE's Mothers' Clubs come in. We don't need to have new mothers come to the hospital to learn these valuable concepts; we can employ the trusted mothers who lead their communities to educate their family, friends and neighbors. When mothers learn the importance of exclusive breastfeeding they don't just adopt the practice themselves but pass it on to their community members and daughters which creates a true behavior change. Our Mothers' Clubs truly save lives with the information and awareness they spread.
Thank you for your support.
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh

Expectant Mother Receiving Care
Dear HOPE Supporter,
Reaching women in need of critical care, in the most remote of areas, is always our focus. From finding obstetric fistula patients to enrolling women in our safe delivery program, we rely on our rural networks to help us reach those that would otherwise never be reached. Our HOPE's Mothers' Clubs have now joined a Village Provider Network, consiting of village pharmacists that will now be educated by HOPE and receive discounts on services for their patient referrals, to help us cast a wider net. Already we have seen an increase in fistula patient referrals and increase participation in our special maternal health programs, as a result of this growing rural network. Our Mothers' Clubs are working side by side with these village pharmacists to deliver critical health knoweldge and direct people in need to where they can receive proper, affordable health care. Thank you for your continued support.
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh
