The importance of parental participation in teaching is key to children’s success. In addition, it can greatly benefit teachers and the quality of education.
In FUNDAP we take these tasks very much into account and we are proud to announce that, once the first semester’s trainings were finished, the participation of parents was 85% and they did it with an excellent attitude. The topics worked on were ‘Self-esteem’ and ‘Creation of eating habits’, where all the content is focused on raising awareness and strengthening important aspects, so that the girls can continue their studies.
The participation of parents in the training provided by the project helps them feel more involved and satisfied with their daughters’ education. Because there is a good connection between the schools, parents have a better understanding of the curriculum and the progress the girls are making. In fact, these trainings can even motivate those parents who did not finish their own education to resume it and expand their knowledge (especially learning to read and write).
In this task of progressive and constant construction in the lives of the scholarship recipients, the effort and collaboration of many actors is required, who coincide in the same objective: to transform lives. In the scholarship project, we trust in the methodological process and that our actions are aimed at the great adventure of promoting the sustainable growth of the communities, always through our scholarship recipients.
“It is beautiful that parents become their children’s friends, dispelling all fear, but inspiring great respect in them".
