Project Report | Nov 25, 2022
Ixim trimestral report

By Equipo IXIM AC | Equipo IXIM

Friends of IXIM, we want to present the progress of this period:

As part of the second health day in the six communities, tests were carried out for the detection of anemia in 213 children, of whom 68 were detected with anemia, so each of them was given vitamin supplements to combat anemia, in addition to providing food care recommendations adapted to the possibilities and resources available to families in each community.

At the same time, dewormers were provided to 92 families, that is, 512 people together with a series of recommendations that help strengthen hygiene and cleaning habits.

Complementing activities that benefit the healthy development of children, 19 new rainwater collection systems and 6 new water purification filters were installed, in such a way that we not only ensure access to water in homes, but also advance in ensuring that households have drinking water and in this way we prevent gastrointestinal diseases.

Additionally, the project " Little path to school: Toy libraries" was presented in the communities of Pinabetal, Guaquitepec, Capulín, La Fortuna, San Pedro Tulijá and San Jerónimo Tulijá. In this project, 82 girls and boys are carrying out recreational activities to improve their fine motor skills and reading comprehension, develop their creativity, and encourage savings. This project will last until April 2023.

These same children and teenagers began with participation in the savings cycles, where they have been explained the importance of generating this habit, each one establishing their individual goals.

In addition, workshops on HIV and AIDS were given to teenagers and women, with the intention of preventing sexually transmitted diseases and positively impacting reproductive health. This activity was carried out thanks to the alliance with the association Joy Joy.

The last day of follow-up to anemia and malnutrition will be held soon, with which the follow-up initiated in August 2019 will be closed. Information on consumption of vegetables grown in backyards this year will also be processed.

Thank you for your trust, we continue walking together. Hocolawal

Hocolawal
