Sheepcare community centre was founded on the basis of caring and feeding the less fortunate in the society in an attempt to alleviate poverty and reduce the risk of spread of waterborne and foodborne diseases even as we offer quality education , all these were aimed at transforming the commnity, a course that we have maintained to date.We got to admit many of our learners through the feeding programme,as many were out of school due to hunger and went around looking for food to eat, they were now able to concentrate in class since we could provide them with food.
Through your continued support via the GlobalGiving Little by Little Campaigns and other donations, we have been able to provide two meals at school; porridge at 10am and Luch at 1pm, this has been rellied on by many of the learners who confidently leave their homes in the morning without taking breakfast with assurance that they will eat at school, we are heartened by some learners who usually serve extra food so that they can take home to eat as supper with their sibblings since they are sure they will not get anything at home in the evening, this compels us to prepare excess meals for the sake of such pupils.
This programme has led to increase in the number of learners and improvement in perfomance, they are able to concentrate in class since they dont have to spend time thinking of where they will find their next meal. This has made them compete favourably with other learners from well off families, we have seen many girls and boys transition to colleges and Universities , some of which have grown on greate people in the society hence able to change the lives of their families. The challenge that we have incurred in doing this is financial constrainst that has made us to strain so much to sustain this programme and at times we experience delay in purchases and even provision of meals.
We appreciate your continued support , this has helped lessen the burden on our shoulder , you have helped us put a smile on the face face of the learners, this is evident at they times of serving meals, the learners are usually excited. Thank you for helping us transform the community.
Blessings
