Feed 1275 slum dwellers for a year in Thailand

Every week we visit poor communities in the Pattaya area bringing rice, water and fresh vegetables that we have grown in our garden. We help many elederly people who are bed ridden and all of they also need pampers and other hygiene products. Disabled children are a high priority for us as they have very specific needs. Most of these children are unable to eat and are tube fed requiringspecialised formula. Without this they would simply die. When thye need medical attention, we help transport them to doctors and hospitals as parents do not have transprot and the children cannot walk. Every week when we visit we are constantly assessing the needs of these vulnerable groups, ensuring they have their basic needs met.

For many of the house bound people we help each week, we are the only people they see other than their care givers. We are a welcomed distraction from the monotony of each day. We come with enthusiasm, love and give them something to smile about too. Meeting their physical needs is essential and we thank you for providing so we can go!

We continue to serve 250 families every week with 5kg of rice and a freshly cooked meal. That's a whopping 1.25 ton a week or 5 ton every month. We buy directly from the farmer who drives 7 hours each way once a month to deliver to us. This ensures the freshest rice and also a fair price for the farmer. The cost of the rice alone is about $1000 USD per week.

In addition to this needy families with disabled kiddies or infirm elderly people receive pampers, medicine, milk and other necessities. Every week we give away hundreds of 2nd hand clothes, toys and household items that have been donated.

A few months ago, we reconnected with an old man who has a paralyzed wife. They live in a make shift house and he tries to sell ice cream in cones to buy food. He arrived to receive his food package completely exhausted from the heat and the weight of the cart. We offered to buy the rest of the ice cream so he could rest, but he was so weak he could barely scoop the ice cream. Our team then made him comfortable in the shade whilst we scooped, ate and then paid for all the ice cream. He was so thankful for our kindness.

Every week now, he comes with his cart and scoops ice creams for free. At the end of the day, we pay him for the ice-cream. Everyone who comes to get food also gets free ice cream. The old man has a day to rest and also goes home with enough money to feed him and his wife. 

For us to buy everything in his ice-cream truck the cost is $70 USD. We are looking for sponsors who would like to put smiles on faces with ice-cream!
