In the global celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, nearly 30 Girls Act country programs united in a spectacular dance-off. Among them, four remarkable young women from Panama, representing the Enlaces program, secured the 5th place in the Girls Get Groovy competition.
Enlaces and the Girls Act platform, a girl-led initiative, played a crucial role in nurturing their leadership and confidence. It's a platform where girls support one another, develop essential life skills, and promote community activism. Their unity and passion paved the way for success.
On this unique day, their art and culture became their voice, advocating for girls' rights and empowerment worldwide. These four Panamanian girls reminded us that every girl has the potential to be a change-maker.
Their 5th place win was not just a victory for them but for girls everywhere. They highlighted the power of unity, support, and community activism, demonstrating the strength of our Enlaces Program and the Girls Act initiative.
In the words of one of their participants, "I nearly cried. I felt so happy because I never thought we would win. It was an experience that allowed us to bond, create memories, and share. Dance enabled us to symbolize unity, support among women, and empowerment among girls."
