A 2023 Gift

By Christina Moreno | Founder & Chairwoman

To all our lovely She Matters followers, Happy 2023! We have been working on lots of things and wanted to share some exciting updates with you.

In recruitment news we have continued to increase our partnerships with future-forward companies like Pirnar, BlueConic, Caterpillar Work Tools, etc. who are excited about the talent that She Matters can provide. Additionally, in terms of team expansion, we have officially welcomed Matthijs Visch to our Advisory Board and hired Emily Bisgaard as our Social Impact Manager, as well as Fernanda Gonzales who joined just last week as our She Matters Intern.

As mentioned in our previous report we have exploring new ways to help support our newcomer women. Emily alongside Chris Velde, a life coach who has worked with with major corporations all over the world, interviewed 6 women who were graduates of the Nike Lotus Flower Program, as candidates for The Gift Pilot. These 6 interviews were in-depth conversations about the struggles they face in their current role like: what are the main issues you are having? What needs to change? How can She Matters support? With their first-hand testimonials and experiences, we were able to identify areas that She Matters can support their personal development in the roles they are in, starting with a catch up dinner - because who doesn’t love incredible Syrian Qatayef from Le’moene in Amsterdam.

As were were enjoying the food too much we weren’t able to take any pictures, but rest assured through a mix of deep conversations and pure laughter, the dinner was a great kickstart to The Gift. Over the next two months, throughout January and February 2023 the pilot will take place over two full day workshops with the 6 ladies. These workshops have been designed specifically based on the personal needs and conversations that came out of the qualitative research Emily and Chris facilitated. Hopefully these workshops will lighten the challenges they feel and give them tools to navigate the corporate world. We are excited to see how it goes and will keep you posted.

Finally thank you to everyone who has continued supporting us in our journey. We wouldn’t have gotten here without you, thank you for being the part of the gift that keeps on giving.
