Empowering Female Refugees in the Netherlands

We hope you and your loved ones had a safe and happy summer.

This is a milestone year for us as we celebrated our 5 year anniversary in August. What started as a dream of hope has resulted in the reality of who we are today: a steadfast foundation that has supported numerous female newcomers with gaining the knowledge, future-forward skills and network needed to secure employment and rebuild their lives. 

Throughout our journey we’ve partnered with some of the largest multinational corporations in the world to support our Lotus Flower Programmes. From Salesforce to Nike, each of our corporate partners have shared our mission and vision. Without this essential support from private sector companies, She Matters would still be a dream.

We want to thank everyone for supporting our work - most especially, private individuals such as yourselves for your generous donations. It’s through this gift that we can continue to support women in our communities with career readiness workshops, mentorship and job placement opportunities. Thank you for all that you do.

Our future is bright

As we look to the future, we’re exploring new ways to support female newcomers. One in particular is a specialised after-care programme to provide additional support to women who have recently secured employment. This will include: integrating into the Dutch workplace, intercultural communication skills, and most importantly, self-esteem and self-empowerment.

We’re currently finalising the programme and aim to start our pilot this fall. Check out our website for more updates coming soon!
