Capacity building for rescued bonded laborer women

Through this project 30 women former bonded laborers were selected, trained  in coir ropes twining works and marketing activities. Then they were supported machine units to start their own production units.for each unit three women collectively workand produce coir products. then they sell it with localwholesale merchants and get the price. Now all the 30 women became as self entrepreners.

In addition to skill training to improve the leadership qualities and self confidence, they were given Capacity building and leadershiptraining. in that training, they were given inputs on collective work and profit making, daily records maitaining, stock book maintaining, Bank saving account maintanance etc.  Now all 30 Women family income has been increased about Rs. 250 - Rs.300 per day and it is regular. 

The women now send their children to schools continually and taking care about their studies, and careful not to discontinue their education no more.Their clothing pattern have changed, able to a decent dresses now and keeping themselves neat and tidy.They could meet now their very basic needs of 3 meals, children education and dresses and also purchasing their home needs.Their husbands and other men relatives are now respecting them, and heard them now what the woman is saying all about on important family issues, that are not there. The other castes, are now looking at surprise, and now have an appreciative look now on these women as they are started to stand on their own and doing small business.All these 30 women are doing monthly savings, and repaid their old debts, and now free from the clutches of their former employers and also freed from the hands of the local money lenders.

Out puts

This project has given good impact on the lives of rescued bonded laborer women and their families. It makes the women to stand with their own leg. The confidence of the women has increased. Now they became self reliance and respectable by others.
