The third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic spread widely and faster all over the country. However, the risk was lower in comparison to the previous variants. The effect seemed low physically but it had adverse effect on mental health of the general people.
Thus, KOSHISH have been continuously providing psychosocial support through Tele-Counseling services in all seven Provinces of Nepal. In this period, KOSHISH provided tele-counseling services to 60 persons. Among them, counseling sessions with 42 beneficiaries have been terminated while 18 beneficiaries are still receiving sessions. All the beneficiaries mental health condition is improving. They are adopting the measures to overcome their condition. They are in regular follow-up by the psychologists.
Due to the uncertainty and fear of the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals sought counseling services. The prolonged counseling services are required to prevent the post traumatic effect of the pandemic on the general population.
Through the support from different donors at GlobalGiving platform we have been able to provide the service. We are very thankful for the support and further support is required for working on mental and psychosocial well-being of general people.
