We extend our sincere gratitude for your consistent generosity in providing digital literacy education to children. Through your continued support, the Digital Skills and Safety (DASP) initiative is effecting positive change daily in the lives of public school students, laying the groundwork for a brighter future. Collaborating with 70 other contributors, we have successfully raised $6,400 towards our $49,800 goal for this endeavor.
A total of 360 students have undergone training in our computer literacy program. They have been introduced to fundamental computer concepts, Microsoft Word basics, and essential skills such as starting up computers, operating peripherals, navigating software, saving work, and shutting down systems.
Computer literacy is an empowering tool enabling individuals across various spheres of life to efficiently seek, evaluate, utilize, and create information, thus realizing personal, social, occupational, and educational objectives. In today's digital era, mere technological understanding is insufficient; what is imperative is the adept utilization of these diverse and potent technologies to search for, retrieve, organize, analyze, and evaluate information for informed decision-making and problem-solving.
The "Digital Access and Safety Project (DASP)" primarily targets public and fee-paying schools, aiming to enhance awareness and knowledge regarding safe internet usage, identity protection, and coping with online bullying and harassment. Additionally, the project enhances students' practical digital literacy levels, imparting skills in filtering and validating internet content, and navigating the myriad experiences facilitated by technology and the internet.
We aspire to secure an additional $43,400 to empower and equip a minimum of 1000 more students. Your continued support and assistance in reaching out to additional partners are immensely appreciated. Thank you wholeheartedly for your invaluable support!
Thank you once again for your generosity.
With gratitude,
Dr. Itoro Emembolu,
Executive Director, TechQuest STEM Academy
