Dear TechQuest Partner,
We would like to express our gratitude for your unwavering support in providing children with a digital literacy education. Your contribution to the Digital Skills and Safety (DASP) project is making a positive impact on the lives of public school students and laying the foundation for a brighter future. With your assistance and that of 70 other donors, we have successfully raised $6,400 towards our $49,800 goal and $43,000 pending.
We are delighted to inform you that more than 160 students participated in our computer literacy program, where they received an introduction to computer concepts and basics, including the use of Microsoft Word. The students acquired essential skills such as starting a computer, operating the mouse and keyboard, opening software, saving work, and shutting down computers. Your donation has enabled us to equip these young students with crucial digital literacy skills that will benefit them in their future endeavors.
As we transition to a digital age, computer literacy has become increasingly vital for individuals from all walks of life to seek, evaluate, use, and create information efficiently to achieve personal, social, occupational, and educational objectives. However, understanding technology alone is insufficient; everyone must also learn how to utilize these diverse and powerful technologies proficiently and effectively to search for, retrieve, organize, analyze, and evaluate information and then utilize it for specific decision-making and problem-solving purposes.
The "Digital Access and Safety Project (DASP)" is targeted towards public and fee-paying schools, aiming to raise awareness and knowledge about safe internet usage, identity protection, and online bullying and harassment. Additionally, it enhances students' practical digital literacy levels while teaching them how to filter and validate internet content and the experiences that technology and the internet expose children to.
We aspire to raise an additional $43,400 to upskill and equip at least 500 students with digital literacy skills. We would be grateful if you could consider providing a little more support and sharing this project with additional partners. Your continued support is priceless, and we appreciate it.
Thank you once again for your generosity.
With gratitude,
Dr. Itoro Emembolu,
