This has been the last week of our courses in CAPTA Colón, closing with the 11th graduation of the program in Colon City.
The 20 graduates had an excellent performance in the CAPTA course and as a reward, they received official certificates and new opportunities in the hotel industry.
It has been a course full of fulfilled promises. We have been able to see the transformation of women that now have clarity in their purposes: To grow and prosper.
As we mentioned in previous reports, CAPTA Colón will closed in 2018 due to lack of funds necessary to continue the program. This are sad news for women that were expecting to enter in future courses, and even more for members of Calicanto and trainers that have supported us for the last 2 years.
The program will close in Colón, but our support to the women that passed through our program will continue thanks to the help of our donors. We will continue looking for opportunities to reopen our program in Colón City since the result has been extraordinary: 282 women that have benefited and 282 families that have been impacted positively, helping them to achieve better life opportunities. All of this thanks to your help.
Despite the bad news, the foundation continues its expansion. We have found a new donor to open a program in Portobelo. This has been a great surprise to have the possibility to take our training program for women in social vulnerability even farther. As of 2018, we will work in the the office, helping as many women as we can and getting more donors to continue with our social work in Colón for the years to come.
But the work continues. In January 2018 we will start a new project supported by Google and Sulá Batsú, in which we will train girls between 12 and 17 years old in areas of technology. This project means a lot for us since it will allow us to benefit more members of the population. We count on your support to achieve the success of this project and the rest of our programs.
New year is among us and we bid farewell to 2017 by thanking the trainers who dedicated their time and effort. And to all of our donors, thanks to your generosity, 2017 was a very successful year for us. We look forward to your continued support to CAPTA in the new year.
We wish you abundance, happiness, and peace in a new year filled with hope. THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE CHANGE!
