She stood on the room waiting for an interview at Fundacion Calicanto, she was fearful and decided to leave but her sister insisted to stay. Benita is 31 years´s old and lives with her six children in a gang zone, by january 2018 she was admitted to participate in the first CAPTA programme of the year, and since then every sigle day by 4:00 a.m. she left her home to be on time for the first classe. Over the first five weeks program, she could discover a new path for self improvement and a new way to raise her children with self steem and hope. Benita got an award for perseverance, her children said, she started to talk about life plans, education, empowerment and dreams. She also changed her way to treat them.
CAPTA help women break the cycle of poverty and become role models for their children and communities as many of them become the first in their family to be empowered. In march 17 women received a certificate in Hospitaly Industry and Five women completed a vocational program at School Fonda La Sexta, now they are trained to work at the most well known restaurants of Panama.
This week we are working hard for the next CAPTA 48 and any donation we receive in the GlobalGiving Little by Little Campaign (9-13 April), will go to train mothers, heads of the family that are carrying the world of their children on their shoulders. Their lives will be changed for the better as a result of your financial gift. With your support, and the support of other caring sponsors, we will all help together to change their future through education.
