CAPTA Panamá has reached the end of the year 2017! This year, more women than ever before had graduated. In total, these are 114 beneficiaries in our main seat in Panamá. Not everything has finished now, there is still the last graduation in Colón left, but this is another history, which we will tell you later...
We are not only counting the 114 women, we are counting their families, too. Because the lives we are changing in the foundation are connected to a lot of different lives. When some years have passed, the change is getting more visible. We will not leave our obligation, to make this world a better world, aside.
The winner of the award “Leader CAPTA” of the 45th course was Liz, a young lady who has shown her strength and desire to exceed since she entered the foundation. Liz, accompanied by her colleagues and teachers, talked about what this experience has meant to her. In the following, you can read her speech, written with emotion and appreciation to all of you as her donors and the foundation:
“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, teachers, colleagues:
First of all, I would like to thank god for this special day. I know the CAPTA program due to my sister in law. I said to myself, that I can master this challenge, that I can change, stop being shy and antisocial.
Within the CAPTA program I learned to change my way of being when I saw that most of my classmates and I shared several attitudes that were not pleasant with others.
Nowadays, I can say that we are different women with own decisions, strong and courageous. Thank you to all of our teachers that helped us to change and made us to see that we are valuable. They knew how to deal with us in different circumstances and behaviors, often because of the character we had before entering the foundation. For all the support that you have given us unconditionally, I want to say thank you today.
I thank the donors for all the effort they gave us, so that we have a chance in life, we all know the sacrifices that sometimes need to be done to help others.
I urge my colleagues to take advantage of the opportunity that gave us the Calicanto foundation, that with their opened door they spread the seed of knowledge that each person who made this possible gave us.
I wish everyone success, and may god bless you. Thank you.”
