The Mustard Seed Mission South reginal service center conducted a camp "Yes, I Can Do It!" for 60 vulnerable children and youths. Through the camp, they have developed teamwork, positive interactions, mutual cooperation, and communication skills. Their self-affirmation and self-confidence will also be developed and know how to appreciate others or give compliments to others.

Learning and Adjusting
Children were adjusting themselves in the group in the first day. Days by days, they tried to leave their comfort zone to make new friends and to do somethings they had never done. Through the field games, the tried their best to make things happen. They break through every barricade, made skits, prepared meals, and did the cleaning together with team members. They learned to adjust their own path for others in order to reach their common goal. In the procedure, they have found their advantages and strengths. The best thing is they have learned to face and overcome their problems with open mind.
Reaching the Goal Together!
In the camp, we set a challenge for them, too. There were several barricades in this challenge activity. They have to cover their eyes, only can put one hand on the person before them and overcome the challenge together in team! We saw each team passed through each barricade, such as walking through the single-plank bridge, jumped rope with five team members, and breaking the balloons… They experienced what "trust" and "partners" are and know they can achieve "something" by themselves. In the camp, we assigned one or two teachers in each team. Teachers encouraged each child when they felt scared and wanted to quit. After conquering the challenge, some children said they have more confidence to hand to their goal and do not give up!
Yes! They Can!
The 3 days camping brings these children love, peach, and hope. With the blessings from volunteers and teachers, children felt they are loved. Children sang a song to show their gratitude to volunteers and teachers in the last day of the camp. Everyone was touching.
We hope these children grow and develop with love, faith, and hope. After the camp, we hope they could tell themselves, "Yes! You can do it and do it well!" when they are facing difficulties oneday in the future.
Every year, the Mustard Seed Mission will provide summer camping events for our sponsored children in northern, southern, eastren, and western regions of Taiwan. We do need your support to help us together to give the children a chance to exprience the world.
