Project Update May 2024

By Peter Kojo Amoabil | Project Leader

Introduction

Our non-profit organization is dedicated to enhancing literacy and digital skills among children in underserved communities. We are thrilled to share the remarkable progress and achievements of the first quarter of 2024. From book donations to the introduction of new educational programs, our initiatives continue to make a significant impact on the lives of young learners.

Book Donations and Library Expansion

We began the year with a significant contribution to our existing libraries and the addition of a new school. In January, we donated 500 books to our partner libraries, ensuring that students have access to a diverse range of reading materials. Furthermore, we established a new library at Neeisim Basic School in Gushegu, Northern Ghana. This new facility is expected to serve as a vital resource for students, promoting a culture of reading and learning within the community.

After School Literacy Tuition Support

Our after-school literacy tuition support program remains a cornerstone of our efforts. Throughout this quarter, we have continued to provide tailored literacy support to children in our project schools. This program focuses on improving reading and writing skills, fostering a love for literature, and enhancing overall academic performance. The dedication of our volunteers and educators has been instrumental in the success of this program, as evidenced by the positive feedback from students and parents alike.

MoodleBox for Digital Literacy

In addition to our literacy initiatives, we have expanded our focus to include digital literacy. Our MoodleBox project at Kanvilli Nuriya Primary School aims to equip students with essential digital skills. This quarter, we have successfully integrated digital literacy modules into the curriculum, providing students with hands-on experience in using technology for learning. The MoodleBox platform has facilitated interactive and engaging lessons, making digital literacy accessible to all students, regardless of their background.

Conclusion

The first quarter of 2024 has been a period of growth and impact for our non-profit organization. Through our book donations, after-school literacy tuition support, and MoodleBox digital literacy project, we have continued to empower children with the skills they need to succeed. We remain committed to our mission of fostering education and look forward to building on this momentum in the coming months. Thank you to all our supporters, volunteers, and partners for your unwavering dedication to our cause.
