A museum to tell the story of St. Martin

Thank you so much for supporting Les Fruits de Mer and Amuseum Naturalis. We’ve had an incredible 2024 thanks to your help!

What are we doing together? We’re doing out best to reach every kid on St. Martin to help them learn about how awesome their island is! It’s an amazing project. We get to help the next generation of leaders appreciate their nature, know their heritage and be proud of their identity.

Here are a few highlights from this fall:

• We donated over 4000 books to students on both sides of the island
• We’ve hosted hundreds of students making class visits to the Amuseum
• We published a new activity book that kids can use at the Amuseum and then take home with them.

We wish you could be there at the Amuseum with us and hear the kids talk about how much they love the books and how they are using them! It is amazing to see them recognize local animals that they’ve learned about. And it’s fantastic to hear them say how much fun they are having at the Amuseum.

Thanks so much for your support! We love what we are doing together and we’re going to keep building on our successes. We’re ending the year on a high note, ready to hit the ground running in 2025. If you’re able to make a year-end donation, it would make big difference to help us keep going.

Thank you so much for supporting Les Fruits de Mer and Amuseum Naturalis. We’ve had an amazing summer thanks to your help! Here are a few things we’ve done in the last three months:

• We added a new Amuseum exhibit about St. Martin marine life and habitats 
• We published a new book of oral histories, Association + Culture
• We collaborated with St. Martin author and artist Ruby Bute on two books, Rising Spirit, her autobiography, and Soualikids Ruby Bute Culture, the first kids book featuring fine art from this island
• We created Booktastic! a workbook for creating educational coloring and activity books, and led a workshop on the topic at the BirdsCaribbean international conference.

Thanks so much for your support! All of our books are available for free, so download some free books! There’s fascinating stuff for kids and people of all ages.

As the school year starts, we are working on some great things:

• Distributing books to all students on both sides of the island of St. Martin — we are very close to having all the funding we will need!
• Developing a new activity book about St. Martin culture in collaboration with the Soualiwomen Kultural Association
• Launching new books for very young preschoolers

We would love your help in achieving these goals. Donations of any amount help us purchase books and access additional grant funding.
