Hello from St. Martin!
We’re happy to bring you some good news from the Caribbean. Though the situation on the ground here has been in constant motion, we’ve made a lot of progress. Over the last few months, we’ve been busy sharing what is special about this island locally and globally.
Back in July, we reopened the Amuseum in what we call “park” mode. Visitors can take self-guided visits any time during daylight hours. It turns out, having all your exhibits outdoors makes it a lot easier to offer a museum experience safely at this time! We also offer free masks and hand sanitizer to help protect everyone. We haven’t been busy enough to be crowded (which is good right now!), but individuals and families have been coming by to see the exhibits and enjoy the gardens. We’ve even added some new local poetry panels. We have more new exhibits ready to go up as hurricane season winds down.
We have also been creating resources that can be used anywhere in the world. We now have ten books in print in English, with French versions on the way. They are all available as free downloads, too!
We continue to make Amuseum content available to local schools as exhibit banners for the classroom. We also published over 30 short videos of undersea life this summer.
Thank you for your support! Please take some time to check out our books and videos. If you have or know people with kids, download the free Endemic Birds of the Caribbean coloring book from our site!
If you are able to support the Amuseum, we can really use the help right now. Any contributions are greatly appreciated.
Stay safe and thank you!!!
