We are still working towards the goal of having computers installed in all 600 homes in Japan with at least one computer. While we started along the 53 Stations of Tokaido, we installed a computer at the first home in Shinagawa and have started conversations with the homes at the end in Kyoto.
We had 10 computers donated by JLL, another 10 being donated from JP Morgan, numerous equipment from Hal Yamashita, FocusCore and AP Advisers. We have another company in Hiroshima which is preparing an additional 200 computers.
As a NPO, we have a membership in TechSoup which allows us to purchase the Operating Systems and software at a discount. We, however, have reached the limited of licenses allowed in a two year period.
We then applied as a recognized NPO by Microsoft and were approved so will see how far we can go to obtain more licenses.
We have great support from Yamakawa-sensei at Matsubaen who has his kids help with the installation of the software and ships them out to other homes.
Thank you for your continued support. We will not stop until we have accomplished our goal of a computer in each home.
Thank you!
