PROJECT PROGRESS REPORT  FOR „WE EMPOWER CROATIAN CHILDREN TO OVERCOME FEARS“

With this project, we will intensify work with children with the help of experts, psychologists, pedagogues and doctors in order to prevent the escalation of behavioral disorders caused by various fears (one of the causes is the recent earthquake in Zagreb).

This will help prevent later severe forms of anxiety in primary school children, and at the same time contribute to solving related specific social problems and proactively influence the development of the community as a whole.

The general goal of the project is:

• strengthen professional and analytical capacities for the purpose of continuity of activities, civil society organizations LIBERA through cooperation with the GlobalGiving Foundation.

The specific objectives of the project are:

• establish sustainable programs for the prevention of behavioral disorders in children aged 7g - 10,
• to form a systematic approach to children with the problem of excessive experience of fear at the age of 10-14,
• hold group consultations with interested parents in order to improve educational methods in the detected target group,
• develop the competencies of all stakeholders in the educational process in this area.

The Libera Association has launched the first phase of the project, and we must primarily keep in mind the following steps:

• organizing a working group that will be involved in all phases of the project,

• hiring one employee,

• making a Safegard policy,

Given the fact of Covid 19 and the increase in the number of infected in Zagreb, all protective measures given the situation have slowed down the implementation of activities. Also, schools in Croatia started working on September 7, so we coordinated all activities with the stated deadline.

• We are happy that our team has such creative and educated people such as Sandra, Ilija and Melita. We believe that with their help we will realize all the given project guidelines.

• We hired Ilija to coordinate work with children. In this way, our team received a new impetus because we will have a person who will monitor our tasks on a daily basis and solve them promptly.

• We have developed the SafeGuard Policy paper of the association necessary for working with children.

All the documentation and euquipement  are  now ready, so we are unusually happy that in this challenging situation that befell us in Zagreb, and we mean the earthquake, we will bring a ray of joy to the classrooms.
